Ruth and her family relocated to The Vale from South Africa in the Summer of 2022. Ruth was ordained in 2002 in the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa and served in 2 congregations during this time; also taking time off to be a stay at home mother. Ruth was granted a certificate of eligibility by the United Reformed Church in 2021.
Ruth's duties form part of a shared pastorate between The Vale and Hardres Street United Church in Ramsgate (a local ecumenical partnership). Ruth also has an active role on the KESSA (Kent and East Sussex Synod Area) pastoral committee and is part of the Spring School Planning Committee for the Southern Synod as well as being a Visionary Companion to various Churches in Thanet and the greater area. This along with various activities, ecumenically, with Churches around Thanet.
